Slow Winter Progress

Interior progress slowed quite a bit during the winter months, partly because of the wet weather and partly because, well, building a house is by law supposed to be a slow and painful process (I looked it up).  But the landscapers went at it and have made a lot of progress with a nice boulder wall, the pool, and some of the stone work.

Finally, today we got power hooked up, which means they can finally sand and stain the floors, put the appliances in, do final paint touch up and all the little things that need to be finished.  We're not done yet, but the end is in sight!  It's possible we'll be in by March... maybe.

First, Google Maps is kind of cool in showing the construction sight from above.  I should have bought a drone...

I got a kick out of watching the bulldozer move dirt around.

I actually got a kick out of how they built the pool.  They put the rebar in and then just do the concrete by hand -- no "containing" walls which was amazing to watch.
