Garage and Geothermal

Finally, with permits approved, we were able to start work on the garage.  Here they're laying the foundation for the garage:

Wyatt chillaxin' on the gravel pile.  If he's not careful, he'll end up part of the chimney.

Some progress affixing the stone to the house.

More garage...

Nice view of the front of the house with the stone progressing.

We're putting in a geothermal heating and cooling system, which uses the constant temperature of water below the surface of the earth to both heat and cool the house.  It requires very little energy and should cut the cost of heating and cooling the house by roughly 50% compared to traditional electric or natural gas systems.  Anyway, here's the well digger.

Plumbing, siding, and stonework

Progress is slow, but steady.  They started putting up the board and batten, as well as some preliminary stonework on the main house and chimney.

Here's the slate we'll be using for the back patios.

Excited to have a cozy interior library and reading room!

This will be an outside fireplace for the back covered patio.

Playroom takes shape.

Still have the apple tree!

Nearing the end of framing (until the garage...)

The got the reclaimed wood columns and cross-beams in, and most of the doors and windows... they look good!  Here's the view from the main hallway looking towards the kitchen and great room.
